Had a blast at this hostel! Staff were really really friendly and helpful. Really friendly and laid-back atmosphere, and an amazing building as well.

Good location. Two major problems: no wi-fi in room or lobby (despite the description) and dirty and wet towels (had to get them changed three times).

This hostel was overall really good. The staff was friendly and helpful, there was a good movie collection, the common room and the courtyards were great. On the other hand, we had a double room with private bathroom and it had a musty smell, the common bathroom were not better. Also, even if there was central heating, it was actually really cold in the room.

Yamen hostel was an excellent place to stay, centrally located with clean beds. The weather was cold at the time, and the only issue was that the room was difficult to keep well heated.

a very good place in a beautiful old house. the staff is very kind and hepfull. if you like to meet traveller is a very good place full of foreigner, if you like to meet china, maybe is not the right place.

Excellent hostel in a perfect location, super friendly and helpful staff that is always ready to help you out without trying to persuade you to join some overpriced tour. Probably the best price value I had in China, but unfortunately there were no headsets for skype.

Really nice and helpful staff. Lovely building and nice rooms. Little quiet when i was there, although it is a little out of season.

Good value hostel for the price. The cafe has good food but is a little expensive. The staff were very helpful in arranging transport from Pingyao. Overall a good hostel.
