This was a perfect example of how a hostel should be! Facilities were fantastic, staff very helpful, rooms & bathrooms were modern & clean, kitchen facilities adequate. Garden area great for socialising with other guests and the first hostel Ive been to with a tennis court and a cat greeted me when I arrived & saw me off when I left! Lol!

Basic female dorms, sufficiently clean and comfortable. Excellent location - very close to the lake and meeting points for various activitiestours. Te Anau's a quiet little town with very limited food options, was useful to have cooking facilities. We enjoyed glow worms caves and horse-trekking which reception can help you book.

Cottages are wonderful and cleanliness is 10. We appreciated having a small kitchen in the cottage, for breakfast, as well as the nice garden with picknick tables and herb garden - a plus.

Really nice place but a poor couch area to read or talk in the middle of what is basically a corridor dining from checkin to kitchen.

Great location and staff. The rooms were the cleanest and newest of all the YHA I have stayed, although did see one mouse in the kitchen (yuck). Staff were very helpful and friendly. I would stay there again.

Well equiped kitchen. Nice and clean. Wished Id been told on arrival that there were more bathrooms upstairs.

the room i stayed in was annexed to the stairs. it was vry noisy at all hours. i found this unacceptable and would not ask for this room again.
