I booked the double which was lovely but not particularly clean. Nice to have a bathtub but the water was lukewarm at best.
I was very annoyed with the fact that I booked a 2 days trekking trip for 2000 baht and discovered that everyone else in the trip had paid 1400. I felt cheated by the staff.

If you come to Chiang Mai, you MUST stay here!! Noom, the owner is simply a top guy who cares about his guests!! The place is homely, clean, friendly. Free internet and breakfasts!! If you get a chance to do a trek with the boss, do it!!! His knowledge of the area is second to none!!! The hostel is on a private road and is quiet and safe, yet only a 5 min walk from the bars etc!! You will love it!!

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. By far the vbest hostel I have ever stayed in. I wish ther was one in every backpackers town! Noom, the owner, is a legend, if you can get the opportunity to go on one of his trekking trips definitley go.

I have stayed at 4 different hostels and guesthouses in Chiang Mai and found SpicyThai to be the most boring and expensive of them all. The entire hostel is based around the television and the two computers. (not an ideal situation for meeting new people) You can find your own room (not just a bed) for at least 100 baht less in a far more interesting part of town.

Top hostel. Staff are easy to deal with and happy to organise stuff for you. It's really easy to meet new people. Great to stay in an actual backpackers and not a poor, lonely guesthouse..
