Convenient location if you're catching a busferrytrain but the hostel has a lockout between 11-4.30 which is absolutely ridiculous!! Extremely inconvenient. Rooms were ok, bathrooms were average. Overall i wouldnt recommend the place

A finegood place to stay if you are just stopping here for a night to catch a ferry or train (that seems to be all there is to do here). My sister and I arrived at night and left early the next morning to catch a ferry to Croatia. The owner speaks little to no english, but warmed up after my attempt to speak limited Spanish with him. As much as the other reviews thought this was an ok place i thought it was fabulous!! the staff was excellent bc checked out at 10am to catch our ferry at noon and i forgot bothcell phone meds, so in a panick i caught a cab there and they let me in and gave me all of my stuff even though there is a lockout from 11-430 and i showed up at 1130, so I have NO complaints about this place and will stay again on my return back to italy from greece!!!!

We arrived to some confusion, as the man at reception was extremely either confused or confusing...didn't speak english but my ltd Italian has always worked in italian hostels fine before. He was quite belligerent. It also apparently 'closes' between 11 and 4 in the day at which time nothing actually goes on in the hostel (cleaning etc) as we remained to sleep. Don't know why the hostelling org esteems this place, it is literally just meh.

we just stayed in this hostel for one night. its on the opposite of the railwaystation an near to the port. when we arrived there, the hostel was closed (between 11 and 16:30) so its a little bit uncomfortable if your train goes at 4 and you can't leave your luggage in the hostel. it's pretty expensive (about 19 euros in a dorm), especially because breakfast isn't included. the beds are a bit too soft, which caused our backs to ache

a guy at reception was friendly and room and bath room were clean.
the location is near main station,however, a bit far from the centre of the city and port( you should take local bus to get there).

If you're just staying a night before catching a ferry, this is the cheapest place you'll find and it will meet all of your basic needs. Not a hard walk to the port or into town and right across the street from the train station.

not much to do in ancona and this is the only hostel. this is the place to stay if taking a trainferry to other destinations. its got all you need for a place to spend a night and is very affordable.
