The owners and staff are marvellous and extremely helpful. Made us feel very welcome and provided lots of useful advice. A wonderful place to stay and great views from outside the bedroom door. Lovely hammocks to relax in, in a location away from the hustle and bustle of central Oaxaca but easy and inexpensive to travel into the centre to explore. Would highly recommend this hostel! Thank you so much for a superb stay.

The family who run this Hostel are so lovely and helpful. Rooms and hostel in general very spacious, clean and cute. A little out of town but taxis are easy and reasonably priced.. I would recommend walking down the hill though and jumping on the public 'recycled old american' tin bus!! Great experience. Thanks La Villada!

The staff were great! The trade-off for the beautiful hilltop view of Oaxaca is that the location is a bit difficult to get to without using a taxi or several forms of transportation from the center. And sometimes taxis don't know where it is. The traditional mud brick walls are nice, but they don't do a good job at keeping out noise. Also I wouldn't go again during Virgin of Guadalupe week in Dec. - fireworks go off in the valley all night and are very, very loud.

La Villada wasn't just a place to sleep while on vacation; it was actually one of the greatest cultural experiences I've ever had. The people who run the place became like family; their sense of humor, their intelligence and their strong work ethics made La Villada a truly unique place to stay. The most difficult part of coming home was leaving those wonderful people.

An overall nice place to rest up whilst in Oaxaca. I really enjoyed the place being up in the hills. The owners are great with lots of helpful tips.
