I had such an amazing time in Melaka all thanks to Sam and Jalan-Jalan. Its an extremely friendly, easy going and well looked after guesthouse and even after being to Melaka twice I plan to go back just to stay there. Very cheap aswell. Cant recommend it highly enough. Also people moaned about Security and Mosquito's but there are lockers and I wasnt bothered by the mossies at all.

A basic quest house with shared toilet & shower for all. has good additional facilities such as free internet, coffee & has washing machine. Sammy, the new owner is very helpful & keen to please. Excellent location in the heart of Chinatown just off the Jonker Road.

The staff were totally kind and helpful.
I like this hostel except the points that the dorm doesn't have air-con.

Simple, clean & very reasonably priced. The owner Sam was very friendly & helpful. Free Wifi. The only downside is mosquitoes, Sam provides mosquito coils as well. It'll be good to bring your own mosquito-repellant spray too.

Owner and friends were great to interact with, very obliging to chat with people. Just one street away from jonker street but yet provides peace and serenity at night. A secure place and had a great environment conducive for interaction amongst guests. Definitely value for money, worth recommending!

Clean, comfortable and convenient. Traveling alone can sometimes be a lonely drag and it was a real delight to find a place like this. Not only was the staff always helpful and friendly, the common room in front turned out to be the gathering place of a real community, made up of fellow travelers and even numerous members of the local neighborhood. One of the best guest houses I have ever visited anywhere!

Sam the owner could'nt have been better. Great laid back sense of humour & nothing too much trouble for him.

My 2 friends actually stayed in Jalan-jalan as they couldn't get a room in another hostel nearby. It was their first time stay in Jalan-Jalan. However, an unpleasant one, a nightmare to begin with.
In the middle of the night, they encounter a pervert trying to steal undergarments and break into the hostels and another, a coin size hole on the ceiling just above the bed in the room. WARNING TO ALL!!!
