Jean-Paul and Jean were great hosts, extremely friendly and always very helpful. We greatly enjoyed our stay! We had a private room for two, which I would recommend if you like some privacy. Jean-Paul et Jean - merci beaucoup pour votre hospitalite! C'etait merveilleux!

wicked,crazy hostel in a good location, awsome for a tamtam base,only for relaxed travelers who arnt 2 worried about personal space or security,chillaxed atmosphere & friendly staff

Clean bathrooms, great location in Mont-Royal with lots of bars and restuarants nearby. Metro only a few blocks away and very convinient. We had our own bedroom, which was nice, but there were lots of people assigned to sleeping in the living room on a couchmakeshift bed, etc. During our stay, someone had their laptop stolen...so make sure you keep your things locked up!!

I loved Chez Jean and it didn't matter I had to share a double bed with someone I didn't know. It was such a friendly hostel and it felt like being in someone's house.

A very nice place, the staff was always helpful and very nice. They speak spanish too if that helps on your trip. I was only a bit weary about security, but other than that it is a very good place.

This hostel has a lot of character, and its cuteness overcomes the lack of privacy. It is a big house managed by the owners, so it has a family atmosphere. Full of beds all over the place, even at places where you would never think possible! (inside a car, outside the house under a little roof). We stayed for a night, met interesting people and had fun sleeping at an original place. I would say it is perfect for teenagers, but if you want a little privacy go with a different hostel.

I really enjoyed the "homey" atmosphere and the type of people the hostel attracted... very laid back and fun.

It was a nice place..Andre the owner was a sweet guy and alawys willing to help out with directions when needed :)
