I liked Happy Gecko - I got a private room - very spacious, had a kitchen. Not very loud at night - plus had great fans and air conditioning. Highly recommended with great staff - props to Lola!

The hostel is definately party central. The staff is help and its only 2 blocks from the beach and close to the bus station. I wasnt impressed by it, and it is expensive given that the rooms are cramped and they dont serve breakfeast.

Oddly, there are no "comfort" or "organized" headings, where I'd give these guys a "poor". Our HostelWorld bookings were never even entered, so we ended up having to stay in the dorm instead of a private suite, though we were offered a 5-bed dorm to ourselves in another hostel. A friend got bedbugs. They are fixing it up nicely, but I wouldn't stay again after not being able to sleep through squeaky bunk beds.

Pretty average for a hostel. Rooms are apartment sized and have kitchenettes which is great for longer stays. However, kitchen supplies are as varied and random as imaginable (think potatoe masher but only 1 glass). Fantastic location, catchy name.
