Cruddy location - go to one of the official IHA hostels. Lots of noise at night. The staff were kind, they gave us our money back for the days we didn't want to stay but had difficulty explaining their laundry policy.

we had a twin private bedroom for 200RMB. the room wasn't as it showed on the pictures. the size was just fit for 2 beds, a cupboard for telly and 1 desk. there was also a short wardrobe. the next day i went seeing another hostel called "Ming Tang" which is right next to the West Lake and has wonderful double rooms. Starway is not bad but with more or less the same price you could enjoy something of more character.

As for hotels go, this place is average. It was in a good location and I felt reasonably safe. The bathroom was very clean, and except for the mysterious wet spot on the floor felt like the room was also pretty clean. This is a hotel and not a hostel, and not a "hang-out" or "party" place.

This place was really good value for money - more a hotel than a hostel。 The room as spotless and an ok size - staff were friendly ad helpful。 Great location too on the edge of the lake which is beautiful - restaurants in the area can be expensive though but if you stay here be sure to go to the EAN korean hoste a bit further up the road on the left hand side （by the entrance to the park） - also great value for money！

Too bad the goverment has torn up part of the hotel. Happy, good place, witrh internet

The receptionists were extremely helpful in helping us decide what to do in hangzhou. They recommended excellent restaurants, helped us get taxis, and even gave us a free lift to the train station when we thought we were about to miss our train. The rooms were very clean and nice, and I couldnt imagine a better hostel. The location was also excellent, right near the lake and all of the main bus lines. I would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend this place to everyone!

Good location, convenient to go main tourism attractions:D Besides, impressed with a very special-- Modern Chinese style with a perfect hygine. Really impressive!!! Conversely, some small issues suggest to improve i.e. hard bed and no warm-shared living room with chic decorations likes other youth hostels. In general this hostel is quite perfect!! Definitely to come bck if have chances.
