The manager was very helpful, although he smoked alot which meant the whole hostel smelt of it! The free tea and toast in the morning was great. The location is OK, shot metro ride into the centre of Cologne. The place is impeccably clean though! Would definately stay again.

Nice small hostel with a personal touch, where you can feel like in a family house with cozy rooms and kitchen. Will come again.

Nice place, very easy to reach from downtown Cologne. I loved it that we could take tea at anytime! Very calm and friendly.

So this was a tiny 12 bed hostel that was set up in a house. The owner was really lovely, the rooms spacious and clean, the bathroom massive and immaculate. The kitchen was possibly the best at any hostel yet.

404 Hostel is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. It is a home away from home. Only 12 beds in the Hostel and not many bunk beds so odds are you get to sleep in a real bed. The hostel is cosy with a nice kitchen and lounge room. The bloke who runs it is very helpful and friendly. There are pubs; restaurants and a supermarket near by. The subway is 50m away and 12mins into town. Stay here if you get the chance!

Note that the breakfast is just toast; a little disappointing especially for it being Germany. The "secure" locker things have front screws that could easily be undone if you have a screwdriver, working around the lock, too. Otherwise a nice, chill place.
