In a pretty hilltop village, six miles from the sea, we have a traditional village house to let. Or stay in a reformed rustic house which was the old village forge. Situated on the edge of the Alpujarras in the foothills of the Contraviesa, we are located between the mountains & the sea. There are one double & 2 single rooms in the main house and all are en suite. A further 4 beds are available in a delightful traditional house on other side of village with self-catering facilities if required. The house consists of a large kitchen/diner, double size living room, a bathroom, a light airy lobby to roof terrace and views over the lower village and foothills to the sea. There is a washing machine, large fridge, gas hob and a microwave oven. All linen is provided. There is also a small shelf of paperbacks, a selection of games and basic tourist information. Meals can be organized by arrangement. We live in the village ourselves, not more than two hundred yards away, and are always available for information and help if needed.Polopos is a small and ancient village, situated almost directly south of Granada, on the southerly slopes of the Sierra de Contraviesa. There are magnificent views to the Mediterranean below. A little further inland, the Sierra Nevada provides an inspiring backdrop to the historic city of Granada.A lovely old building in an ancient wine-producing villagek, there are many local interests for walkers, riders, bikers, artists, writers, as well as vino-guzzlers! At the foot of our hill there is a well run campsite with bar and restaurant, where you can use the pool and eat cheaply and well. Along the coast there are many market days in various villages as well as further inland. More sophisticated pursuits can be found at the not too distant tourist resorts of Almunacar and Nerja, plus of course the city of Granada and also Almeria are not far away. Furthermore the motorways now connect to most of the southern cities, many within a days drive. But whatever your particular interests, if you appreciate the relative peace of the countryside, you'll like it here!Note: 2 nights minimum stay
